SalaryThe Adoption Counselor, under the direct guidance of the Adoption Supervisor, plays a vital role in securing loving homes for dogs and cats within both the shelter and off-site adoption venues. Their core responsibilities encompass not only matching pets with suitable adopters and foster homes, but also fostering positive interactions and disseminating knowledge about the adoption and foster processes. Collaborating with Animal Care departments and leveraging diverse social platforms, the ideal candidate must adeptly identify fitting placements, facilitate pet adoptions by assisting foster parents and potential adopters, and provide comprehensive support and education to them. This role requires the ability to assess animals' behavior and medical requirements, ensuring optimal placements based on the foster/adoptive family's experience and preferences. Additionally, the role entails mastering the creation of engaging animal biographies and capturing compelling visual content for adoption/foster promotion. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
