Position Summary
The administrative coordinator manages administration and operations of a research project in the Health Psychology & Behavioral Medicine Research Interest Group in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Rice University. S/he will perform complex, confidential, and administrative work for the group. Under the guidance of the postdoctoral fellow and/or lab manager, they will also assist in data processing and maintenance for all research projects. This position requires employee to be onsite during normal business hours.
Hiring Salary
Between $37,000 - $43,000 per year, contingent upon qualifications and experiences
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or will be graduating with bachelor's degree in May 2023

Essential Function
- Performs activities in support of multiple research project and / or study
- Manages the day-to-day activities related to a specific protocol / lab
- Implements applied prevention projects including data collection, field interviewing, and educational activities
- Performs general duties related to the maintenance of the project and / or grant
- Interacts closely with postdoctoral fellow and lab manager in the daily coordination of the study including administrative support for the project, particularly scheduling and coordination
- Manages instrument and staff scheduling to ensure maximum utilization of the lab ensuring data quality is not compromised
- Supervises, leads, and trains undergraduate / graduate research students
- Performs all other duties as assigned by postdoctoral fellow and/or lab manager
Additional Function
- Help maintain database for all research projects
- Assist with grant preparation and submission
- Assist in maintaining databases and survey instruments for all research projects
- Process data, including receipt, entry, verification, or filing of information.
- Submit expense reports on behalf of PI
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of administrative, psychological laboratory and/or research experience. Lab or research experience may be gained through undergraduate study.

- Detail-oriented and good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, meet deadlines, analytical and organization skills
- Good knowledge or Microsoft Office Suite as well as proprietary databases
- Able to keep sensitive and confidential information private
