Job Summary:

The Administrative Assistant the Dean functions as the primary administrative support for the Dean and various operations of the Terry School. This role oversees the logistics and strategies for accomplishing the Dean's vision, mission, goals, and direction for all Terry School departments. The Administrative Assistant serves the Dean, Faculty, staff, and students in fulfilling the core values and mission statement of the Terry School with excellence.

Essential Job Functions / Responsibilities
  • Provides primary academic administrative support for the Dean and Terry School operations.
  • Assists the Dean with regular calendar of events, meetings, appointments, and yearly tasks.
  • Works closely with Faculty, staff, and students to ensure positive learning environment and instructional outcomes.
  • Develops and implements yearly academic schedule for faculty and supplemental faculty.
  • Prepares and processes various institutional forms related to academic administration, employment, and financial compensation.
  • Coordinates extensively with various institutional departments to complete projects and tasks.
  • Serves as the main point of contact for Terry School office support.
  • Manages organized office space and use of Price Hall building.
  • Oversees day-to-day processes of the Terry School.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned and specific to area of responsibility.

  • Knowledge of general academic institutional practices, procedures, mission, and goals.

Qualifications / Education:
  • Must possesses at least a bachelor's degree (master's degree preferred).
  • 3 years of administrative assistant experience (academic administration experience preferred).
  • Valid U.S. Passport.
  • Successful completion of background check, MVR, and credit check may be required.

Supervision:
  • Supervises other full-time or part-time administrative assistant position within the Terry School as needed.
  • Reports directly to the Dean of the Terry School.


Decision-Making Responsibilities:
  • Improve processes, functions, and strategies for institutional effectiveness.
  • Prioritization of job responsibilities to meet deadlines and goals.
  • Aids Faculty, staff, and students with various academic issues.

Physical Requirements
  • Physically able to sit and stand for long periods of time.
  • Able to use computer and move about office to interact with other staff members.
  • Able to attend meetings on site.
  • Able to bend and/or stoop.
  • Able to climb and lift up to 30 pounds to perform tasks that may be assigned in the course of operations.
  • Must be able to carry up to 30 pounds of parts and equipment.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
