To instruct students at Flagler College and to exhibit professional conduct in the performance of assigned tasks.
We are seeking an instructor to teach First-Year Composition. Essential duties include the following:
--Teaching assigned courses in English. Prepare a detailed syllabus for each course and distribute a copy of the syllabus to each student. The syllabus must conform to the requirements set forth in the Faculty Handbook and those established by the Director of College Writing.
--Maintain weekly office hours. When classes are in session, part-time faculty are expected to be on campus at least one hour for each course taught to meet with students outside of class. These meetings may take place immediately before or after class.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree and 18 graduate hours from a regionally-accredited college or university in the teaching subject.
Preferred Qualifications: MA, MFA, or PhD from a regionally-accredited college or university with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in rhetoric and composition, literature, or creative writing
Teaching experience in First-Year Composition preferred.
