Assists departmental supervisors in providing an ongoing program of activities designed to meet, in accordance with the assessment or reassessment (Level of Care and Placement Instrument), the physical, mental and psychosocial well being of each client. The activity should be multifaceted and reflects each individual’s needs, abilities, and interests. The activity program:
- Involves clients to the maximum extent possible in planning and implementing activities.
- Includes individual and group activities that encourage creativity, social interaction and physical exercise.
- Provides stimulation or solace.
- Promotes physical, cognitive and/or emotional health.
- Enhances to the extent practicable each client’s physical and mental status.
- Promotes each client’s self-respect by providing activities that allow for self-expression, personal responsibility and choice.
- Post monthly schedule or planned activities for easy review in the center.
- The activity record is completed on each client and made a part of the client’s service record.
- Provide direct client care as indicated, including: toileting, cleaning, bathing, and dressing.
