Job Summary:

As an ACS First Line Manager, you will provide professional support to COMPA Industries Los Alamos office for the timely and satisfactory completion of assigned tasks. The primary responsibility will be to support planning and execution of the ACS team in the field, at the worksite and to provide leadership for ensuring access compliance in accordance with all applicable rules, regulations, and ACS requirements. The individual will supervise security escorts and ensure sound security practices are accomplished in support of project work activities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction, guidance, and oversight to the ACS Security Escorts.
  • Assist in scheduling resources to implement appropriate access controls within project work areas.
  • Address security escort concerns and issues.
  • Address and be involved with COMPA management in compliance concerns with the ACS team.
  • Manage/coordinate the activities of the assigned areas of the ACS team. Establish clear expectations for the generation and/or maintenance of accurate and timely deliverables including performance reports, spending forecasts, schedules, and cost estimates.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for the ACS team.
  • Develop and maintain an on-call list to ensure project coverage due to loss of personnel resources.
  • Ensure consistency and quality within the ACS team supporting accomplishment of critical milestones.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with projects and the client.
  • Develop and coordinate responses to project and client requests including budget growth and reduction exercises as well as integration of the project's priorities.
  • Interface with client and project management.
  • Track the status of ACS team performance progress and provide management support when required.
  • Research and provide training opportunities to the ACS team.
  • Mentor and train ACS staff for consistency within the team.
  • Provide timely feedback and guidance to help others gain knowledge, problem solve, and increase skill
  • Provide support to internal and external audits and assessments
  • Provide leadership to ensure the requisite level of conduct of operations, safety management program implementation, and security compliance in the planning and execution of these activities.
  • Plans/execute multiple, complex field activities with a demonstrated record of successful schedule execution.
  • Attends pre-job briefings, schedule meeting with the assigned ACS team and develop programs to increase effectiveness.
  • Implements company programs for access control.
  • Implements and supports the Integrated Safety Management System.
  • Supports worker involvement in safety and process improvement programs.
  • Conducts management observations and assessments for safety and procedural compliance.
  • Accountable for the safety of workers, the public and the environment.


Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; experience in supervising field operations is a plus
  • Strong communication skills - you must enjoy interfacing with customers and be confident in representing the company.
  • Self-motivated and organized - Clients will need timely response through email or telephone daily.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and ability to learn new software.
  • The ability to work in different environmental conditions.

  • Must be able to pass a background check.


Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work on a computer. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally be able to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

Travel may be required. Maybe required to work occasional nights and/or weekends. The employee is occasionally exposed to weather. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate in an office setting.
