Night Owl’s accounting department is looking for a collections specialist to help collect past due balances from our retail customers. The AR Collections Specialist will identify deductions taken on payments from customers and gather the supporting shipping documentation to determine if the deductions can be disputed. Experience working with Walmart, or any other big box store is essential to successfully dispute variances on the customer portals. We have a team that will support this role in gathering documentation, but the collections specialist is expected to manage, maintain, and report on all past due balances. Effective communication skills and attention to detail are essential to help in all three of these tasks. This position will report directly to the controller.

Own the AR Disputes process from beginning to end. Communicate with customers per customers rules. Dispute AR credits; locate appropriate documents including Invoice, BOL, POD, PO upload into customers dispute portals. Record work into NetSuite and MS Excel. Follow up to ensure payment. Make reports to manager.

Also assist with researching and disputing fines levied by customers.

Job Requirements:

• Prior experience disputing Walmart deductions.
• Collections experience collecting from big box retailers. (e.g. Walmart, Sam’s, Home Depot)
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills – including pivot tables.
• Experienced in editing Adobe PDFs.
• Experience working in NetSuite preferred.
• Knowledge in shipping terms and documentation (BOLs, PODs…)
• Ability to take data from a system and create reports weekly to track progress.
• Previous AR Collections/Dispute experience.
• Previous experience with working with Walmart, Best Buy, Home Depot is preferred.
• Ability to Navigate and Pull reports from online vendor portals.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work with a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,000.00 - $56,000.00 per year
