Xcel Energy is seeking an Accounts Payable Intern.
Applicants will be able to commute to the worksite in Henderson, Colorado (periodically).
Position Summary
Validate, process, and post invoices in Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) tools. Provide accurate, timely, and high-quality work in a high-volume transactional environment.
Essential Responsibilities

• Validate, process, and post invoices in conjunction with OCR & VIM tools. Request new vendor setup/vendor corrections. Provide accurate, timely, and high-quality work in a high-volume transactional environment. Research duplicate submissions and resolve accordingly. Accountable for performance targets and resolving items identified out of standard. Demonstrates knowledge of linkages between Vendor Master, Purchasing, Receiving, and Supplier invoices in order to determine proper processing. Handle details and assignments of a confidential nature. Ensure that documents meet corporate and regulatory standards (SOX, IRS, FERC).
• Problem/Process Resolution: Identify and resolve problems encountered during invoice processing using approved processes and procedures. Update, maintain and track data as required.
• Reconciliation: Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions utilizing approved processes and procedures.

Minimum Requirements for Accounts PayableIntern

• Current student, sophomore status or higher
• Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in accounting, finance, and/or MIS/Computer Science
• Must have a basic understanding of Purchase Order, Invoicing structures, and accounting and supply chain processes/procedures.
• Ability to multi-task and learn, follow and document step-by-step processes and procedures.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Non-Bargaining
The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $16.20 to $23.90 per hour
