Position: Accounting Specialist Status: Full-time/Hourly/Non-Exempt

Job Summary:
The Accounting Specialist position will be responsible for all accounting aspects of Medicaid Billing. The Accounting Specialist will also manage all aspects of the Accounts Payable function for the organization. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Duties/Responsibilities:
Processes all Medicaid billing and accounts receivable in the Oasis system and our accounting software. Researches the status of any unpaid claims and resolves the issue so the organization is either paid or the claim is adjusted to ensure we don’t carry account receivable amounts on the books for more than 90 days (about 3 months).
Works closely with managers to ensure accurate data is captured on all transactions.
Ensures all bills are paid in a timely manner. Works closely with the Controller to ensure all staff understands the timely presentation and payment of reimbursements are made.
Processes all payments for expenses to be paid privately and ensures all parties are billed appropriately.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma required; two-year college degree preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
