The Opportunity

We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our growing and dynamic team. As an integral member of InduPro, you will be responsible for various activities supporting to the organization and helping to establish financial management processes and systems. The successful candidate will be part of a hardworking and supportive team that collaborates in company operations and in celebrating successes.

Requirements

Responsibilities Include:

  • Process the day-to-day accounting operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, payroll, and maintaining Accounting Systems.
  • Conduct the monthly close process and prepare timely and accurate financial statements and supporting documents, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Work with consulting Controller/CFO to design and implement effective internal controls and processes to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, integrity of data, and safeguarding of assets.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and assist VP of Operations and consulting Controller/CFO in analyzing financial results and understanding variances from budgets and forecasts.
  • Prepare quarterly/annual reports for investors for consulting Controller/CFO to review.
  • Assist consulting Controller/CFO in financial slides for quarterly board meetings.
  • Assist in annual budget process, including preparing templates, meeting with scientists, and managing budget Excel file.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, including preparation of sales/use tax returns and property tax returns, annual payroll, consultant and stock reporting forms, and coordinate with external tax accountants to prepare state and federal income tax returns.
  • Work with legal team to administer stock option plan and maintain capitalization table.
  • Manage implementation and maintenance of accounting software and train users.
  • Process payroll and benefits administration.
  • Administer Point Purchasing system and coordinate with third-party purchasing agent.
  • Evaluate all insurance needs, prepare annual renewals, and coordinate with broker. Prepare audit materials when requested. Work with consulting Controller/CFO on final decision.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications (strong candidates should have most):

  • Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, with 2+ years of prior experience in a bookkeeping, AP, management, accounting specialist role. Experience in pharmaceutical/biotech/life sciences a plus.
  • Familiartity with accounting and bookkeeping software and applications including but not limited to QuickBooks, Concur, Bill.com, and MS Excel.
  • Hands-on knowledge of most of the activities described above.
  • Enthusiasm for learning new skills and developing financial management processes and controls.
  • Excellent time-management skills with a problem-solving attitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, team-oriented environment with colleagues from diverse disciplines.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills.

The hiring pay range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000 per year based on skills, education, and experience relevant to the role. Other components of the compensation package include a competitive new hire equity grant, and participation in an annual performance bonus incentive program.
