Allianz Reinsurance America, Inc. (AZRA) is a small, specialty niche reinsurer, domiciled in California and licensed as an admitted insurer in 36 states (including District of Columbia) and is a qualified, accredited or approved reinsurer in fifteen states. AZRA's business focus is legacy reinsurance and run-off management of U.S. legacy insurance liabilities for Allianz Group affiliates and third parties including third party claims administration and reinsurance of asbestos & environmental, workers compensation, general liability and excess and construction defect liabilities as well as prospective reinsurance for strategic transactions. AZRA has approximately 150 employees located nationwide with the majority working on a remote basis. AZRA is rated "AA-" by Standard & Poor's. What you do:
- Complete accounting worksheets, entries, control and reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and IFRS Accounting Procedures for the insurance industry.
- Prepare accounting and financial reports for management, other affiliated Allianz companies, government and regulatory agencies.
- Interpret accounting data, analyze reports and recommend appropriate actions to be taken.
- Analyze and interpret new accounting principles as established by regulatory bodies (e.g., FASB, NAIC, AICPA, SEC and Allianz)
- Consolidate and reconcile ledgers, records and related documents which support the company's financial statements.
- Support financial audits for AZOA companies for GAAP & IFRS.
- Develop, review, interpret and/or summarize financial results/projections.
- Assist in annual financial planning and forecast processes
- May have lead responsibilities for special projects.
What you bring:
- 5 + years' experience as Financial Accountant in Accounting Dept. or similar role
- College level coursework in Finance, Accounting or related field
- General knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Flexible and knowledgeable with tasks related to both Accounting & Reporting.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of automated accounting systems (SAP Preferred).
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial operating statements.
- Ability to evaluate, summarize and present results of analyses.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Work as part of a Global team.
Range $95,000 - $105,000 (pay band minimum - pay band maximum)Actual base salary may vary based upon factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, internal equity of peers, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual incentive program
