Job Duties:
- Bookkeeping: Recording financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments, into accounting software or ledgers.
- Accounts Payable: Managing outgoing payments, processing invoices, and ensuring timely payments to vendors and suppliers.
- Accounts Receivable: Monitoring incoming payments, preparing invoices, and following up on overdue accounts.
- Bank Reconciliation: Balancing bank statements with internal financial records to ensure accuracy.
- Financial Reporting: Generating financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecasts to help with financial planning and decision-making.
- Tax Preparation: Assisting with tax filings, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and maintaining tax records.
- Financial Analysis: Analyzing financial data to identify trends, opportunities for cost reduction, and areas for improvement.
- Audit Support: Assisting with internal or external audits by providing documentation and explanations of financial transactions.
Job Requirements:
- Education: A bachelor's or associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is often required.
- Experience: 1-2 years of accounting or relevant experience.
- Knowledge of Accounting Principles: Strong understanding of basic accounting principles such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and familiarity with relevant accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
- Attention to Detail: Must have strong attention to detail and the ability to spot discrepancies.
- Analytical Skills: The ability to analyze financial data and interpret trends.
- Communication Skills: Good communication skills for interacting with colleagues, clients, and vendors, as well as for presenting financial information effectively.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel is typically required, as well as a willingness to learn new software systems as needed.
