KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the Executive Director of the Systems Engineering Research Center (SERC/AIRC)
- Support the SERC/AIRC Manger in all accounting related function and administrative matters
- Routine financial management such as: 1) G/L reconciliation of SERC/AIRC accounts; 2) assist with summary of cost analysis for Bimonthly Status Report, as well as other sponsor required reports; 3) ACRN Review relevant to billing and reporting
- Support SERC/AIRC researchers and other SERC staff
- Prepare monthly financial reports for all the active research task for WHS, AIRC and CCDC contracts
- Reconcile expenses on every active research task
- Assist in report preparation 'Manpower report'.
- Compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial data.
- SERC/AIRC RT management analysis
- SERC/AIRC Workday Recruiting includes but not limited to: create and Submit SERC/AIRC Requisition form/approval email to OSP Workday Payroll Request form to create Job requisition for a new and existing SERC Faculty/Staff/Students.
- Workday onboarding process: Draft offer letter and route it through approvals process.
- Costing Allocation Process includes but not limited to: Work with Each SERC/AIRC related individuals for creating their costing allocation for Academic and summer months or month to month.
- Assist other SIT functions such as Internal Audit, Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP), Office of Sponsored Accounting (OSA), Human Resources (HR), A/P, Procurement, and the Budget Office
- Complying with all Steven's Policies and Federal accounting and financial regulations.
- SERC subcontract management including: 1) Create and track subcontract POs and associated financial oversight; 2) subcontractor risk assessment in concert with OSP; 3) initiate and maintain Quality Control (QC) processes established to manage subcontractor billing etc.
CANDIDATE COMPETENCIES/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Minimum:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business management required, advanced degree is an advantage
- Prior experience in a university central or departmental business office
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft suite, including significant proficiency in Excel
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Workday and KFS
- 3-5 years prior experience in an office that is involved in directly related types of activities
Ideal Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in accounting, business or project management
- Additional training in or knowledge of research administration
- Experience with government contracts
- Superb time management skills
- Ability to coordinate a large number of complex tasks and reprioritize as needed
- Highly self-motivated with results-oriented perspective
- Initiative and intellectual curiosity
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- This position requires access to information that may be subject to export control requirements. Successful candidates must be qualified for such access without an export control license. As a result, US citizenship or LPR (Lawful Permanent Residence) is required
