Account Payable Clerk

JC Ford - Tennessee is seeking top talent to take our organization to the next level! We are actively seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for accounting support for JC Ford by receiving, processing, and verifying invoices, tracking purchase orders and processing payments that come into the company's accounting department from suppliers or customers. Supporting all AP Functions in accordance with company practices, policies and directions.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

Perform accounting and administrative functions to support the department in a high-volume work environment.

Research, track, and resolve accounting problems

Compile and sort invoices, review and reconcile invoice discrepancies

Accurately review, code, and process vendor invoices

Record business transactions and enter daily worksheets to the general ledger system.

Record charges and refunds

Input type vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records

Match invoices to product receipts and reconciliation of vendor account statements

Assist in contact delinquent accounts

Files, prints, copies accounting records as needed

Comply with plant safety procedures to ensure a safe environment

Experience and Background:

• 1-2 years of accounting experience
• General knowledge and understanding of accounting procedures
• Filing and organization skills with accuracy
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations quickly and accurately
• Knowledge of accounting databases and ability to understand
• Experience and knowledge in using computer systems to run databases, pay bills and process financial data, such as accounting databases.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft applications: Excel
• Capacity to logically solve problems and manage projects by utilizing a data-driven, detail-oriented, approach.
• Analytical ability to prepare cost/price variance analyses, and other billing calculations.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to work well with others and to participate in and/or lead a cross-functional team.
• Possess ability to drive for results, hold self-accountable, and continuously improve.

Physical Requirements

The majority of the job function is performed in an office setting requiring normal safety precautions, but the job will also require from time to time to visit the production floor and in the warehouse.
