- Responsible for identifying opportunities and market analysis within territory. Analyze customer and market needs and areas where we can deliver value
- Rigorously prospect and follow leads to develop and secure new business.
- Develop key relationships at all levels and within key functional areas with existing customers and prospects.
- Comfortable with Virtual Selling and using technology to enhance effectiveness in prospecting efforts
- Stakeholder mapping of customer/prospect organizations and development of deep, wide relationships in key functional areas of purchasing, supply chain, sustainability, packaging R&D, operations, sales and marketing.
- Identify customer pain and position value.
- Leverage internal resources and collaborate effectively across technical, graphics, customer service, operations, and other internal functions to ensure customer satisfaction and business growth.
- Develop and implement account and territory growth plans to increase sales with a range of customer decision-makers.
- Develop and maintain an updated and accurate sales funnel, through CRM.
- Manage territory travel to optimize interaction with customers and budget.

The ideal Account Manager (Flexible Packaging) - Midwest would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
- Bachelor s degree in Business, Marketing, or related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of sales experience or a strong technical background, with packaging or flexible packaging experience preferred.
- Solid understanding of key drivers within packaging environment; track record of developing product and price positioning strategies that maximize profitability while driving growth.
- Demonstrated track record of securing new customers while expanding share within existing customers.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Capable of orchestrating internal resources to implement growth plans.
- Demonstrated ability to identify key decision-makers and build strong, working relationships.
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong negotiation and presentation skills.
- Travel throughout territory required.
