Hearst Bay Area is hiring for an Account Executive to focus on the vertical markets of Obituaries and Legal Notices to manage and develop relationships with our Legal Notice and Obituary partners and other death care service providers.
In this role you'll focus on better understanding our partner's and prospective partner's needs. You'll work with the HBA team to develop and implement advertising and marketing programs that will meet those needs and grow revenue in these two verticals.
Primary focus will be for the Obituary vertical. This will require visiting active and non-active funeral homes and crematoriums to communicate the value we bring to the table for the funeral homes' families and the funeral home themselves. You'll work on growing revenue with existing and new traditional funeral home accounts. In addition, you'll work on growing new business in other related services such as end-of-life, burial alternatives and estate planning.
Secondary focus will be for the Legal Notice vertical. This role will require visiting active and non-active municipalities and entities to understand their requirements and look for new opportunities with these accounts to grow new business in this vertical.
What will you do?
- Service exiting accounts in both verticals and uncover and close new business in both verticals.
- Create, launch, and manage a new channel sales incentives program that rewards funeral homes for ordering obits.
- Create and launch a program designed to begin specifically capturing orders from the pre-need side of the funeral home business.
- Get obituaries added to all funeral home general price lists (GPLs) and related collateral.
- Produce and distribute new printed HBA collateral to funeral homes that include overall value proposition, good, better, best examples with FH-specific pricing.
- Create and launch programs for other related services- end-of-life, burial alternatives, and estate planning.
What will it take to be successful?
- Background or strong familiarity with funeral home or death care service industry required.
- Prior Legal Notice experience a plus.
- 1-2 years minimum digital and print media sales a plus.
- Proficiency using Salesforce and strong Microsoft Office Skills.
- Skilled in live and virtual presentations, online web demos, and remote sales processes.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- A consultative sales professional who can produce in a dynamic, highly visible environment.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative and team environment.
- Understands and follows digital trends in media.
- Demonstrate the ability to grow market share using digital solutions, forecasting and new customers.
- Ability to understand the needs of clients and the value proposition.
- Results-orientated, accountable, strong work ethic, team player.
- Ability to travel.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
In accordance with applicable law, Hearst is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role if hired in San Francisco. The reasonable estimate, if hired in San Francisco. is $77,0000 - $90,000. Please note this information is specific to those hired in San Francisco. If this role is open to candidates outside of San Francisco., the salary range would be aligned to that specific location. A final decision on the successful candidate's starting salary will be based on a number of permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to skills and experience, training, certifications, and education.
