Job Description
SUMMARY
The Shift Supervisor works under the supervision of the Production Manager. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for supervising employees engaged in machining, fabricating, and assembling parts, as well as the manufacturing of products within quality, time, and cost standards. Additional responsibilities include enforcing safety protocols, implementing and monitoring process improvements, maintain process control and troubleshooting documentation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Oversees production and quality of formed and machined products to ensure PTF produces defect-free products which meet or exceed customer expectations, on schedule, and to customer requirements.
- Closely monitor operational performance to meet goals and objectives established by the Company using plant metrics as a tool for continuous improvement.
- Maintains productions processes. Ensures minimal machine downtime by ensuring workstations are staffed, work orders and materials lined up, and set-up times kept to schedule.
- Directs and supervises all personnel involved with the production/manufacturing of products.
- Responsible for planning and directing the workflow, assembly methods and workforce utilization for thermoforming machinery.
- Ensures all Quality Systems Manual procedures are consistently followed.
- Performs Production Manager duties as required.
- Ensures all company policies including workflow and safety are followed and enforced.
- Conducts regularly scheduled safety meetings in accordance with OSHA standards and in accordance with company's written safety policy and procedures
- Provides training and development; coaches and develops employees within assigned areas fostering open communication within the group to promote teamwork.
- Documents all training records for production/manufacturing employees to ensure all appropriate and mandated training is completed and properly documented.
- Promotes good safety and housekeeping skills

Carlisle Interconnect Technologies is a clean facility, housing different machinery, equipment, processes, and chemicals which produce potential hazards in the work environment such as: ergonomic, chemical, machine point of operation, and powered industrial vehicle traffic. These hazards are controlled through means of engineering controls, such as machine guarding, and administrative controls, such as safety policies and programs. In certain areas of the facility, employees are required to wear Personal Protective equipment such as Hearing Protection, Safety Glasses, Safety Toe Shoes, and hand protection.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
- ASTM F-2412-2005, ANSI Z41-1999, or ANSI Z41-1991 rated safety toed shoes
- Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety rated glasses

SALARY INFORMATION
In compliance with CA state law, the annual base salary range for this position is $57,000 - $101,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Carlisle Interconnect Technologies reviews factors such as but not limited to responsibilities of the position, scope of work, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal pay equity, as well as market considerations when extending an offer.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on equivalent basis
- High school diploma or GED; Associates' a plus
- 3-5 years manufacturing experience, with supervisory and work planning experience.
- Experience with "Just in Time" and 5S, Lean practices a must
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Forklift certification helpful
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
JOB SKILLS
- Demonstrates good judgment and decision-making skills
- Excellent management and communication skills. Ability to manage and build relationships.
- Proficient in MS Office. ERP experience a strong plus.
- Demonstrates interpersonal, leadership skills with ability to interface well with other departments and lead effectively
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing plant environment
- Understanding and experience in Lean manufacturing environment preferred. Participate in continuous improvement projects and 5S related performance teams.
