Summary
The Maintenance Technician is a highly skilled hourly position requiring a thorough understanding of safe work practices, troubleshooting, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment both mechanically and electrically. This position creates value for the facility by performing preventative and corrective maintenance leading to increased uptime and reliability, thus helping the facility to meet their production and quality goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs Lockout/Tag-out per procedure for required operations.
- Installing, Lubricating, troubleshooting and repairing equipment in compliance with plant codes, policies and procedures
- Repairing and maintaining Corrugated plant machinery in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufacturer specifications
- Read and understand drawings, troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic mechanical systems including valves, solenoids.
- Responding to all maintenance issues, both mechanical and electrical, throughout the plant
- Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures and actively participating in the safety program
- Effectively communicating work performed and equipment statuses both written and verbally.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Maintenance
- Ability to use Excel, Power Point, VPS and email communication.
- Needs to be able to communicate effectively both verbally and via email.
- Effective organization and time management skills
- Prefer at least 2 years of electro-mechanic experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and schematics
- Will be required to learn and operate several different computer software programs.
- Must be able to operate equipment including but not limited to: fork trucks, and other lifting devices.
- Ability to start machines and equipment to test the operation following repair.
- Follows verbal and written instructions.
- Communicates clearly with maintenance and operators.
- Familiar with PLC Hardware and Software.
- Familiar with test equipment i.e., meters, micrometers, calipers, etc.
- Be able to troubleshoot Electrical motors, drives, and PLC’s.
- Use machine shop and other tools such as power drills, reciprocating drill, band saw, reciprocating saw, hand grinder, and bench grinder.
- Ability to work independently.
- This position will report directly to the Maintenance Manager.
- All candidates must be willing to work any available shift; as well as overtime as needed.
