2023 Summer Intern - Clinical Pharmacology: Oncology
Department Summary
The Clinical Pharmacology department guides the clinical development of therapeutics using scientific expertise from the disciplines of Pharmacokinetics (PK), Pharmacodynamics (PD), Metabolism, Biodistribution, and Pharmacology. Our mission within the Clinical Pharmacology department is to enable selection of a safe and effective dose, route and regimen for small molecules and biologics by applying the principles of quantitative pharmacology throughout a molecule's life-cycle.
This internship position is in South San Francisco, CA, On-Site.
Key Responsibilities
- We are seeking an intern to identify strategies/decision-making used for dose-selection, to characterize drug-drug interactions, and to evaluate host determinants of drug toxicity.
- This individual will understand trial designs and recommend dose finding strategy to enable selection of a safe and effective dose, route and regimen for small molecules and biologics by applying the principles of quantitative pharmacology throughout a molecule's life-cycle.
- The activities would include a systematic review of FDA/BLA/NDA documents, scientific literature search, and gathering and summarizing the data collected.
Program Highlights
- Intensive 12-weeks, full time (40 hours per week) paid internship.
- Program start dates are in May and June 2023.

Who You Are
Education
- Graduate Level Only: Pursuing Masters or PhD, or graduated from Masters or PhD within the last 2 years.
Preferred majors: Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position of California is $21.00 - $50.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
